MOVIE REVIEW
MICELLANEOUS

CLUB NEWS Well, with the Christmas and New Year's
vacation over with, additions to the website will
begin to appear and the changeover will soon be
complete. But not only do we have an image archive
and other things to rebuild (and add to the site), but we also get
to look forward to Michelle's new movie and perhaps
even a second or a third film from her this year.
This looks to be a very entertaining year for us, so
let me get to the update on what Michelle's been up to!

MICHELLE NEWS Principal photography has apparently
finished for The Touch, done on the 12th. In the meantime,
Michelle showed up with the cast from The Touch and Thomas
Chung at the HK premiere of Moulin Rouge (pictures of
which can be found on Jane's website). There has been no
announcement as to whether or not Michelle will appear in
the next Bond picture, but with plans going forward
for the shoot for Hua Mulan when production closes for
The Touch, it seems unlikely (but I'm keeping my
fingers crossed!). To me, of course, it'd be great to
see Michelle reprise her role of Wai Lin, it would
further her exposure around the world and especially
here in the US (and maybe it would help when The Touch
gets released later this year!). Also, the final
announcement of who won the Young Michelle contest has
not been made, and fans are wondering who it will be
(join the others and post your comments on the MYOFC
Message Board). Things should be clarified by the
next newsletter, so we'll update you next month!

MOVIE REVIEW With the rumors flying about the next
Indiana Jones movie and Michelle's potential
participation, I thought it'd be fun to review her own
version of the Indy franchise, Magnificent Warriors
(and she can still be in it, because Lucas is going to
be finishing the Star Wars movies before he gets to
Indy, and that means it should be at least another
year before it starts production). Like Raiders,
Magificent Warriors is a fast paced adventure that
builds to a big finale in the end in a big battle
against the Japanese during the occupation of China.
In that regard, it seems more like Temple of Doom,
where Indy took on the ancient Indian cult. Like
Indy, Michelle's character uses a whip, fights with
guns and fists (and feet!), and is far prettier than
Harrison Ford too! If you're looking for a good
action movie along these lines, I highly recommend
Magnificent Warriors.

MICELLANEOUS With the New Year, we here at the MYOFC
hope that Michelle has a very prosperous and happy
year and wish her great success at her new enterprise.
So, with much more news for you next month, see you
again soon!
